Problem Tree Analysis for Farm Communities along Bicol River Basin, Camarines Sur, Philippines

In the past decades, climate change has become a disruptive issue in agriculture. This paper provides brief problem analysis of current status selected agricultural farmlands along Bicol River basin (BRB) province Camarines Sur. Six barangays from initially identified vulnerable municipalities were assessed on their respective community’s problems. Two each municipality Baao, Canaman and Minalabac, targeted as participating sites Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). The aimed to survey insights into dynamics problems agriculture-based these communities identify priorities needed for improvement farm productivity. A tree revealed that sixty-seven percent (67%) claimed problem’s root cause was absence water source efficient farming irrigation. Oppositely, thirty-three (33%) pinpointed base prolonged flooding hampers ideal yield. Other mentioned included unavailability advanced technologies, low harvest rates due shift, high cost inputs such fertilizers labor, access market roads, gate price harvested products lack trees aide flood prevention. study further either scarcity or effects rainfall intensities are key faced by areas.
